Happy Play Music on the Porch Day!

Born as a simple idea out of the imagination of LA-based artist, Brian Mallman, the first Play Music on the Porch Day was commemorated in 2013.  To learn more about Mr. Mallman and the founding of Play Music on the Porch Day, read his interview with Tone Mob.

Now, if you’re wondering how to celebrate this auspicious occasion,  just go outdoors and play some music! Do it alone or with your friends. Gather on your porch or anywhere. Record a video and share it on social media with this hashtag:  #PlayMusicOnThePorch. Not much of a musician or singer? No problem. Take a break from your TO DO list, relax and enjoy music played by others like Angels in Heaven, performed by Abby the Spoon Lady and Chris Rodrigues which was filmed on Abby’s front porch on August 26, 2017 during the 5th Annual Play Music on the Porch Day.

For more videos like this one and to learn about their unique brand of music, follow Abby the Spoon Lady and Chris Rodrigues on FACEBOOK and don’t forget to hit the LIKE button.

Now go play (or listen to) some music on the porch!

Music has Charms to sooth a savage Breast,
To soften Rocks, or bend a knotted Oak.
I’ve read, that things inanimate have mov’d,
And, as with living Souls, have been inform’d,
By Magic Numbers and persuasive Sound.
What then am I? Am I more senseless grown
Than Trees, or Flint? O force of constant Woe!
‘Tis not in Harmony to calm my Griefs.
Anselmo sleeps, and is at Peace; last Night
The silent Tomb receiv’d the good Old King;
He and his Sorrows now are safely lodg’d
Within its cold, but hospitable Bosom.
Why am not I at Peace?

The Mourning Bride, 1697 by William Congreve
